Our Community
The Muslim Peace Fellowship offers Interfaith Fellows an opportunity to live in Dar Anwar As-Salam (The House of Peace), the Muslim residential, religious and cultural center at Stony Point Center. ‘Anwar’ features a beautiful zawiyah, residential apartments, a Halal kitchen and access to an Islamic library. Chaplain Rabia Terri Harris guides Muslim programing and cultural events, which take place in Anwar.
Our Guiding Principles
In the Name of Allah Most Compassionate, Most Merciful
Points of Guidance for Muslim Peacemakers Taken from the Generous Qur’an
1. Remember ALLAH first, above all, and throughout the process of peacemaking. No peace can be established without an awareness of God.
2. Try to draw all parties into a common frame of understanding.
3. Never cease to remember that all acts have consequences.
4. Strive for justice. It isn’t easy.
5. Help contestants to clarify their principles, and hold them to the principles they pro-fess. This is not easy either.
6. Ease the hearts of the oppressed.
7. Respect the human dignity of the opponent.
8. Lift up the generosity of God.
